You’re Consecrated… Great! Now What?

Certainly, evidence of the profound, truly miraculous efficacy and sanctity of Marian Consecration abounds.  Moreover, due to the myriad resources on the internet, individuals who have heard Our Lady’s call and who so choose to respond to it, are making what is very likely the most important decision of their life on this earth; that is, a decision that will, in all likelihood, determine not only their own immortal fate, but that of countless others as well.

Yet, despite the profundity of Marian Consecration, I’ve known many who have done the 33-day prep, and experienced a mild disappointment on the day of their consecration, as it didn’t seem to “feel” too remarkable at the time. What you must know, however, is that Our Beloved Spiritual Mother, Queen of Angels and of Saints, she through whom God has chosen to distribute every conceivable gift of His own Divine Grace – which is nothing short of full participation in God’s very own Supernatural, Trinitarian and Divine Life of eternal beatitude – has most gratefully and most seriously received this gift of your life, and, from this point onward, you make up part of her estate; you are her property, without condition. You have entrusted to the Mother of God the full and complete right of doing with you and your life whatsoever she wishes, for the greater glory of God and for the salvation of souls.

Through your unconditional “Fiat,” or “Yes” to the holy will of the Blessed Virgin, which is always in perfect conformity with the Divine Will of God, she shall take up her dwelling in the desert of your soul. There, through the action of her Divine Spouse, the Holy Spirit of God, Who shall be irresistibly drawn to you as a consequence of her presence, they shall begin to work the miracle and prodigy of your complete transfiguration into the image and likeness of Christ, Crucified and Risen, such that Christ shall live, work, pray and suffer in, through and with you, and vice versa. You shall become the hands, the feet, the face of Christ, as she brings you to the very same summit of love that her own Divine Son was brought to. And, in loving these little ones with the very Heart of Christ, and spreading Our Lady’s fragrance of holiness all about your person, Christ shall re-live his passion in you, to the extent that you permit them to carry out this action in your soul. Thus, each new day provides a new opportunity to second the plan of your Mother. Your vocation is sublime. You have been called to apostolic privilege! Yet, keep in mind that he to whom much has been given, much shall be expected.

Moreover, you shall begin to notice real changes taking place in your life and attitude, such as an increasing aptitude for and facility in prayer; witnessing, quite possibly for the first time, real growth in overcoming those particularly stubborn and habitual sins – the ones you tended to repeatedly confess, time-after-time, and started to believe might never be crossed-off the list!

You must make every effort to remain faithful to the living of this Consecration by adhering to the spiritual practices / programme that you have assumed as a consequence of your Total Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary, including, but not limited to: 1) daily renewal of your Act of Consecration (using an abbreviated form); 2) commitment to daily prayer, particularly Our Lady’s favorite and most pleasing prayer: the Holy Rosary; and, of course 3) a commitment to daily, or at least frequent, attendance at Holy Mass and reception of Our Eucharistic Lord.

Thus, without you yourself, or anyone else noticing, you shall become more and more intimately united with the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Our Lord, through, with and in the Immaculate Heart of your Spiritual Mother, who shall seal you with her motherly seal, which shall serve as a special and most powerful protection against the allure of the world, the flesh and the devil, the three chief enemies of our souls.

Be aware that your mission is sublime, and few have been hand chosen, as you have, to understand and participate in our Lady’s plan to save humanity through you, the members of her beloved remnant cohort. Keep in mind that you will, indeed, be reviled by the world, for you have been called to shine the Light of Christ into those areas of darkness where sin abounds, and where men wish not for their sinful actions to be exposed as the perversions that they are. “Blessed are you when they insult you, and hate you, and utter all sorts of slanderous statements and falsehoods against you for my sake. Rejoice, for your reward in heaven is great.”

  1. Thank you. I needed to hear this today. I did the consecration about a year ago. I have just had a very “dry” Lent thus far.
