St. Maximilian Kolbe on Human Frailty

The following was taken from Chapter 16, Falls, from St. Kolbe’s spiritual gem, Aim Higher:

“If a soul dedicates itself to the Immaculata, the devil will not be able to harm it in any way.  And if it happens to fall, it will easily rise and the fall will become for it a stepping-stone to a still higher perfection.

“The Immaculata can turn even our weaknesses to greater good.  This is my only consolation.

“In case of a fall never be sad, because this is stinking pride.  Rise immediately and go forward with great love and joy of spirit!  Repair the fall with a perfect act of love.

“Even if someone is convinced that he is strong, let him take heed not to fall, as St. Peter fell.

“My dearest ones, let every fall, even the worst and most habitual, serve as a rung always toward higher perfection.  The Immaculata permits th fall only to cure us of our self-love, our pride, to bring us to humility and so make us more receptive to God’s Graces.”
